Runswick bay fishing competition
it was a great turn out on the morning and a good number of stealth kayaks to be seen. unfortunately due to weather it had to be postponed to the Sunday as the safety boat could not launch due to fog in Whitby and not through lack of trying on the beach either. this gave me a great opportunity to test my new PFD from YAK Greenburg and my initial thoughts are it is a great PFD for paddling & fishing in this has been well thought out and the fre...edom of movement is superb there are pockets for everything and a PLB & emergency torch fit in the main front pocket and you don't know they are there my camera - VHF & usual stuff I carry are un noticed whilst wearing this superb designed PFD from YAK.
This also have me a great opportunity to have some fun in my BFS and boy these are made for fun the swell was a good 4-5 foot yeah I admit went looking for that sort of swell as I needed a good test and wow I was pleased there was no point I felt unsafe or un secure going out through the swell was superb straight over the swell and very comfy. the BFS picked up the swell very easy and the surf back in was a great experience picking up some long rides on the wave all in all over the moon.

Esthwaite Grand Slam Comp
Hi there all
I normally stick to saltwater fishing but I ventured over to the Esthwaite kayak competition over in the lake district for the 2 day competition and was also invited to a practice day on the Friday before on Derwent water in which I was to hone my fresh water fishing skills as the last time I fished fresh water was when I was about eight years of age (a while ago) so this was going to be a fast learning curve although fast may not have been the way of the day as in the full days fishing I had 2 bites and missed them and hooked one perch that saved me from a blank. After this we headed over to Esthwaite water to do some preparation for the competition. The 1st day of the competition was very slow for me probably did not help with my lack of fresh water experience but I managed one of the species required and a first for me a little jack pike of 43cm so I was well chuffed and spent the rest of the day looking for the other two species a perch and a trout but unfortunately these did not materialize but on the up side I did come 19th in the full competition so not too bad especially as I did not have chance to fish day two.
This was a great weekend and looking forward to having another go hopefully with a few more appropriate pieces of kit to help.
Enjoy the pictures.
thanks for reading

I started fishing afloat nearly 20 years ago on a small open canoe targeting fresh water fish in South Africa. Being very fortunate, I had the opportunity to fish in some of the most amazing locations and targeting a variety of both fresh and salt water fish in Africa. It was a move towards the Wild Coast that I first got introduced to Stealth kayaks. Having relocated to the UK and fished with a number of different kayak brands over the years, I soon realised the need for a performance kayak. With Stealth kayaks ticking all the boxes and the introduction of the Pro Fisha range it was the start of my involvement with the Stealth brand and the launch of Stealth Kayaks UK. I fish all over the UK whenever and where ever I can, in particular the fast running tides in the North West and North Wales. I target all manner of species. From drifting off-shore reefs and rocky bays lure fishing for Bass, Pollock and Cod to anchoring up for Tope and Conger eels or anything that will take my bait for that matter. Fishing actively through all seasons, I look forward to meet other kayak anglers on the water, whether it’s for a demo or just a fishing session. Please feel free to contact me for any advice with Stealth Kayaks, I am here to help.

I began my Kayak fishing back in 2009 and very quickly got hooked, Living on the stunning North Yorkshire coast and having a love of fishing and all things outdoors since I was very young Kayak fishing is a great way to get out amongst it whether that be fishing trips targeting big fish on light lure tackle (my favourite method) ,Surfing or playing in wild sea conditions (Used to scare me but have grown to love), touring the coastline or even free dive spearfishing.
I also have a big passion about the safety side of things and try to do whatever I can to equip myself for the often tough conditions from making sure I have the right equipment but also the mind-set and ability so self rescue and assisted rescues are high up on my priorities plus I just love an excuse to fool about on and in the water. This also lead to me being chosen as a team paddler for 1st Wet & Wild water sports with Fi and Ken being a great help sorting me out with the right equipment.
The kayak choice is all tied in with this and I have been a big fan of the Stealth Range especially the ProFisha and I’m eagerly awaiting the delivery of my new 525.
I can’t emphasise enough how proud I am to be part of the Stealth UK fishing Team and looking forward to exciting times ahead.

I took my first tentative steps into kayak fishing in 2007, having had no previous kayak experience but being a keen angler, I was frustrated with poor shore fishing catches and saw kayak fishing as a logical step. After buying a second hand plastic yak and basic safety equipment the results were instant and dramatic! My fishing sessions became hectic with good bags of fish and new species being caught.
Being located in the south west, I tend to fish the Bristol channel the most and have a great respect for its strong tidal currents but despite this, I had found myself in some situations where my plastic kayak was the limiting factor. It was about this time that the profisha range was launched and it ticked all the boxes! With its hi tech lay up, spheritex core material and vacuum infusion with epoxy resin. Given my size and weight and the fact that my garage is 5.3 metres long, I took delivery of the first 525 in the UK and it was love at first paddle! I now prefer to fish on the drift, as paddling back to the start of the drift is now quick and fun and gets me fit! I've got some exciting plans this year to fish places I previously wouldn't have considered so watch this space!

I have been an avid fisherman since I was old enough to hold a rod and reel. With my dad showing me the ropes of the fantastic North East coastline, and sharing some very valuable information that would see me good up to this date. But as a shore fisherman I was wanting that little bit more and as shore fishing was getting more difficult with the catches getting less and less, I had seen these kayaks with fishing rods attached on forums. This seemed a great way to reach the more difficult grounds that were out of reach to me, so I decided to take the plunge and in February 2012 I started a new adventure with a second hand plastic kayak. I have never looked back since, I have now been kayak fishing for about 3 years. After about a year I progressed to the Pro Fisha 475 and love it to bits, I also have the supalite BFS currently on order so I have all eventualities covered. I have made some great friends for life and the fishing from my kayak is second to none. I try and get out on any opportunity available to me, I have caught from tiny flat fish to 40lb tope and had some amazing memories to go with this sport. This sport has taken me on many adventures in the past and I am looking forward to the future with a fantastic year ahead.

I am a kayak angler based in a small town called Grimsby in the North East. I have been actively kayak fishing since early 2012. I am a keen and active member of a group of kayak anglers called the East Coast Kayak Anglers. I mainly fish along the East Coast of Britain from Mablethorpe for Smooth-Hounds and Tope, all the way up too Scarborough for Cod, Pollock and Bass. My favourite style of fishing is pulling deep diving lures targeting pollock in the summer.
My ultimate fishing kayak is the Stealth BFS and is ideal for surf launches around my coast line. I am very passionate about kayak fishing and I go to extreme efforts to meet my passion, which in turn has given me the opportunity to take the kayak and rods to different parts of the Country, meeting new friends , fishing new ground and competing in some of the best UK kayak angling competitions.
A short evening Jigging for Cod 26/05/2105
ad a few hours last night jigging over the local rock patches almost aborted the launch due to quite a stiff breeze but luckily it calmed down for the fishing and only blew back up big time on the paddle back in
Things started off a bit slow with countless micro Codling and fish in the 2lb bracket but managed to get 3 fish for the table with the biggest going 5lb an awesome short session 5:30pm - 9pm and managed to get a bit of time in the saddle of the 525 in quite lumpy conditions on the return paddle
Plenty of pics to share too
